EU does not recognize so-called “elections” in Nagorno-Karabakh
The European Union does not recognize the constitutional and legal framework of “parliamentary elections” to be held in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on May 3, the European Union said in a statement.
The statement says that these procedures cannot prejudice the determination of the future status of Nagorno-Karabakh or impact on the negotiation process.
“The European Union fully supports the OSCE Minsk Group and its co-chairs’ change of the status quo and their efforts in terms of comprehensive peace talks”, the statement said. The European Union will continue supporting the efforts for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
